Description island AchillThe inhabited fairly large island of Achill is located in the country of Ireland, Western Europe. The distance to the mainland is, quite close about 0.2 km. The surface-area of the island is 148.1 km2 and is therefore 0.39 x times greater than the island of Isle of Wight. The island lies in the Atlantic Ocean and the total coastal length is about 129.3 km and the dimensions of the island are approximately 23 km by 17.5 km (maximum width). The island is West-northwest - East-southeast oriented. The highest point is 688 meter and is named Croaghaun (kliffen).
