Description island AustvågøyThe inhabited large island of Austvågøy is part of (the island group) Lofoten and is located in the country of Norway, Northern Europe. The distance to the mainland is about 28.6 km. The surface-area of the island is 507.1 km2 and is therefore 1.3 x times greater than the island of Isle of Wight. The island lies in the Norwegian Sea and the total coastal length is about 669.7 km and the dimensions of the island are approximately 53 km by 18 km (maximum width). The island is Southwest - Northeast oriented. The highest point is 1146 meter and is named Higravtindan .
