Description island BarraThe inhabited fairly large island of Barra is part of (the island group) Outer Hebrides and is located in the country of Great Britain , Western Europe. The distance to the mainland is about 75.3 km. The surface-area of the island is 66.1 km2 and is therefore 0.174 x times greater than the island of Isle of Wight. The island lies in the Atlantic Ocean and the total coastal length is about 98.2 km and the dimensions of the island are approximately 14 km by 10 km (maximum width). The island is North-northeast - South-southeast oriented. The highest point is 383 meter and is named Heaval.
