Description island FöhrThe inhabited fairly large island of Föhr is part of (the island group) North Frisian Islands and is located in the country of Germany, Western Europe. The distance to the mainland is about 4.4 km. The surface-area of the island is 85.5 km2 and is therefore 0.225 x times greater than the island of Isle of Wight. The island lies in the Wadden Sea and the total coastal length is about 38.7 km and the dimensions of the island are approximately 12 km by 6.8 km (maximum width). The island is West - East oriented. The highest point is 13.2 meter and is named Geest bei Nieblum.
