Description island GraciosaThe inhabited fairly large island of Graciosa is part of (the island group) Azores and is located in the country of Portugal, Southern Europe. The distance to the mainland is about 1592.8 km. The surface-area of the island is 60.7 km2 and is therefore 0.16 x times greater than the island of Isle of Wight. The island lies in the Atlantic Ocean and the total coastal length is about 41.6 km and the dimensions of the island are approximately 12.5 km by 8.5 km (maximum width). The island is Northwest - Southeast oriented. The highest point is 402 meter and is named Caldeira São Mateus da Praia.
