Description island HinnøyaThe inhabited very large island of Hinnøya is part of (the island group) Vesterålen and is located in the country of Norway, Northern Europe. The distance to the mainland is, quite close about 0.7 km. The surface-area of the island is 2125.7 km2 and is therefore 5.6 x times greater than the island of Isle of Wight. The island lies in the Norwegian Sea and the total coastal length is about 1740.2 km and the dimensions of the island are approximately 86 km by 46 km (maximum width). The island is North-northeast - South-southwest oriented. The highest point is 1262 meter and is named Møysalen.
