Description island LangøyaThe inhabited large island of Langøya is part of (the island group) Vesterålen and is located in the country of Norway, Northern Europe. The distance to the mainland is about 46 km. The surface-area of the island is 842.7 km2 and is therefore 2.2 x times greater than the island of Isle of Wight. The island lies in the Norwegian Sea and the total coastal length is about 1073.9 km and the dimensions of the island are approximately 50 km by 45 km (maximum width). The island is South-southwest - North-northeast oriented. The highest point is 763 meter and is named Snøkolla.
