Description island Lewis HarrisThe inhabited very large island of Lewis Harris (local name Leòdhas - Na Hearadh) is part of (the island group) Outer Hebrides and is located in the country of Great Britain , Western Europe. The distance to the mainland is about 37.2 km. The surface-area of the island is 2101.2 km2 and is therefore 5.5 x times greater than the island of Isle of Wight. The island lies in the Atlantic Ocean and the total coastal length is about 1126.9 km and the dimensions of the island are approximately 100 km by 45 km (maximum width). The island is Southwest - Northeast oriented. The highest point is 799 meter and is named Clisham.
