Description island La maddalenaThe uninhabited small island of La maddalena (local name La Maddalena) is part of (the island group) Sardinia and is located in the country of Italy, Southern Europe. The distance to the mainland is about 187 km. The surface-area of the island is 19.7 km2 and is therefore 0.052 x times greater than the island of Isle of Wight. The island lies in the Tyrrhenian Sea and the total coastal length is about 53.5 km and the dimensions of the island are approximately 7.2 km by 5.5 km (maximum width). The island is North - South oriented. The highest point is 156 meter and is named Guardia Vecchia.
