Description island PianosaThe inhabited small island of Pianosa is part of (the island group) Tuscan Archipelago and is located in the country of Italy, Southern Europe. The distance to the mainland is about 48.3 km. The surface-area of the island is 10.2 km2 and is therefore 0.027 x times greater than the island of Isle of Wight. The island lies in the Tyrrhenian Sea and the total coastal length is about 23.8 km and the dimensions of the island are approximately 5.7 km by 4.6 km (maximum width).
