Description island RømøThe inhabited fairly large island of Rømø is part of (the island group) Wadden Islands and is located in the country of Denmark, Northern Europe. The nearest (main) land is The Netherlands and is not the country to which the island belongs. The surface-area of the island is 90.3 km2 and is therefore 0.238 x times greater than the island of Isle of Wight. The island lies in the Wadden Sea and the total coastal length is about 66 km and the dimensions of the island are approximately 17 km by 5.9 km (maximum width). The island is North - South oriented. The highest point is 19 meter and is named Høstbjerg. The coordinates (latitude, longitude) of the island (center) for GPS are 55.14 (55°8'17.8548), 8.52 (8°31'25.0176).The population is 650 and the population density is thus on 5.30 inhabitants per square kilometer (compared Isle of Wight 364 inhabitants / km²).
