Description island TerschellingThe inhabited fairly large island of Terschelling is part of (the island group) Wadden Islands and is located in the country of The Netherlands, Western Europe. The distance to the mainland is about 13.7 km. The surface-area of the island is 87.7 km2 and is therefore 0.231 x times greater than the island of Isle of Wight. The island lies in the Wadden Sea and the total coastal length is about 74.2 km and the dimensions of the island are approximately 28 km by 4.1 km (maximum width). The island is West-southwest - East-northeast oriented. The highest point is 31.4 meter and is named Kaapsduin.
