Description island TexelThe inhabited fairly large island of Texel is part of (the island group) Wadden Islands and is located in the country of The Netherlands, Western Europe. The distance to the mainland is, quite close about 2.5 km. The surface-area of the island is 158.7 km2 and is therefore 0.418 x times greater than the island of Isle of Wight. The island lies in the Wadden Sea and the total coastal length is about 92.9 km and the dimensions of the island are approximately 20 km by 8 km (maximum width). The island is South-southwest - North-northeast oriented. The highest point is 15 meter and is named Seeting.
